Christmas December 2022

Nothing says Christmas more than GIVING

Hay Communications recognizes that not all families in our community have enough resources to put on a Christmas feast. In order to help where we can, Hay has donated to these amazing organizations who bring food and gifts to those less fortunate.

$2,500 to the Huron County Food Distribution Centre – Centralia

$2,500 to Blessings Community store in Zurich for Christmas Hampers

$2,500 to the Huron County Christmas Bureau

It’s not only those in need of food who may not feel the Christmas spirit as much as they should.

Hay Communications also donated:

$500 to each of our 3 area Nursing homes for Christmas projects and events for the residents – Exeter Villa, Queensway and Blue Water

$500 to Victim Services – Huron to give a bit of joy to families who can use it at this time of year.

November 2022

We Want To Help

All our services rely on technical equipment in your home and in our offices. There’s no avoiding it, sometimes the equipment fails. This can be due to many things, but often it is equipment needing an upgrade or just a simple reboot.

No matter what the cause, we CAN’T fix it if we don’t know you’re having an issue.

That is why we have a full in-house support department dedicated to making sure your services run the way they should. From Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., we’re here to help.

JANUARY 2023 LINK-UP NEWSLETTER

Anchor2022 Patronage Returns – That’s money in your pocket!

YOU RECEIVE PATRONAGE BECAUSE HAY IS A CO-OPERATIVE

Hay Communications gave back over $290,000 in patronage to our members in their January 1, 2023 bill.

WHO RECEIVES PATRONAGE?

Members in good standing who paid for land-line telephone service in the previous year.

HOW MUCH IS PATRONAGE?

Hay gave you back 20% of what you spent in 2022 on phone service and features.

WHERE CAN I FIND THAT CREDIT?

If you are eligible, you will see a line on your January statement with CR beside it. This is the patronage CREDIT amount. It usually amounts to about a month of free phone service.

A SPECIAL HEADS UP

If you have a credit balance do not pay that amount! It will carry forward as a credit to your bill next month.

A New Year Message from Angela Lawrence, General Manager

Thank you to all of our members for choosing us to be their telecom provider throughout 2022. At Hay, we are proud of the high quality service we provide and the impact we have on our local communities. We look forward to providing world class telecommunications with small town service to each of you in 2023.

At year end we like to recap changes and improvements at Hay Communications Co-op.

We are growing and this year we added more staff. We now employ 36 full-time and a part- time staff. Welcome to New Customer Service Reps, Jennie Gethke & Jenn Keller. Also welcome to Cheryl Becker who is an assistant bookkeeper.

– New Office Locations

If you haven’t heard through the rumour mill yet, Hay Communications has purchased the OPP station at the north end of Exeter. The building needs major renovations and we don’t expect it to be open for customer service for some time. Another Grand Opening!

Although the Grand Bend office has been open for over a year, the Grand Opening was just this past summer. We had a great turn out with lots of people coming out for burgers and to see the new place.

– In 2022 we focused on the conversion to paperless billing

This move is saving the co-op money in postage, admin and paper. Considering the increases everyone including Hay is experiencing, it was a good way for the company to keep costs down. We appreciate everyone learning and adapting to this new form of communication.

– Did you know mobile service is our fastest growing service?

Each year we add hundreds of new cell customers. Over 22% of our customers now enjoy 3 LOCAL office locations, 7 mobile SPECIALISTS and our PERSONAL customer experience.

– In 2023 our commitment to our communities will continue
