Hay Device Financing is available with new activations (or eligible upgrades) on eligible 2-year rate plans. Purchase financing provided by Hay Communications, on approved credit. Cost of borrowing is $0 during the Finance term. If you end your Hay Device Financing Agreement early or change your rate plan to a non-eligible rate plan, your remaining device balance will become due immediately and you may be subject to an early cancellation fee for your service agreement. Any promotional credits will no longer be valid. The pro-rated amount of the Financing Credit will become due immediately. Eligibility for Hay Financing: requires select 2 yr plans starting at $85.00/mo. 
From time-to-time, we may offer promotional Finance Credits in connection to your Hay Device Financing Agreement which reduces your device payments. If you are receiving a promotional credit or SAVINGS in connection to your Hay Device Financing Agreement and you end your Agreement early, the credit will no longer apply and your remaining device payments, including pro-rated Finance Credits amounts, will become due immediately.

Lower your monthly device payments with the Device Return (Deferred Payment) Option

What is Device Return (Deferred Payment) Option?

Eligible with Hay Device Financing and a 2-year plan. You can lower your monthly payments by returning your device in good working condition at the end of a 2-year term. Or, you can keep it and pay back the Deferred Payment Amount.

Return eligibility

Smartphones must meet the following requirements to be eligible for return:

You own the smartphone (lost/stolen devices will not be accepted). The smartphone meets the good working condition criteria:
  • It powers on and navigates properly to the home screen
  • Keyboard and/or touchscreen is responsive and functions properly
  • Display and body of the smartphone are free of any visible chips, cracks, and missing parts
  • Battery and battery cover are included
  • For an Apple iPhone, the “Find My iPhone Activation Lock” function is turned off and no longer linked to your Apple ID (iCloud account)
  • For an Android smartphone, “Activation Lock Protection” (also known as “Device Protection”) is turned off
After 12 months, you can return your smartphone and either leave the program or upgrade early to a new phone. You will need to pay back the Device Return (Deferred Payment) amount (including financed taxes on this amount) at the time of purchase, as well as your outstanding device balance, plus applicable taxes.
  1. Can I buy any smartphone on Hay Device Financing? Yes, subject to Hay's credit approval process, financing is available with all our smartphones. Visit a retail location for more information.
  2. Do I pay taxes at the time of purchase? No. Taxes on the financed device amount are payable with your monthly device payments.
  3. What happens once the Hay Device Financing payment period ends? After 24 months, your Financed Device Installment Agreement will be paid off; therefore, you will no longer have monthly payments for your smartphone. As of month 25, you will only be charged the cost of your monthly rate plan.
  4. What happens if I want to cancel my Hay Financed Device agreement before the 24 months are done?You will be required to pay your remaining device balance immediately plus applicable tax and any outstanding service charges that you have incurred. In addition, you may be subject to an early cancellation fee for your service agreement.
  5. Can I combine the Advanced Payment with Buyback option with Hay Financing? Yes.
  6. How does the Advanced Payment with Buyback Option work with Hay Financing?
    • Step 1: Pick one of our eligible smartphones.
    • Step 2: Activate on an eligible 2-year plan with Hay Financing.
    • Step 3: Return your smartphone in good working condition at the end of your 2-year term, or keep it and pay back the Advanced Payment Amount you saved.
  7. Is Hay Financing available on all rate plan types? You will be able to pair your Financed smartphone with the majority of our Unlimited Data and Share plans. Some plans may be excluded.
  8. What happens if I end my rate plan early or I change my rate plan to a non-eligible rate plan? If you end your rate plan early or change your rate plan to a non-eligible rate plan, you will have to pay an early cancellation fee for ending your services and your remaining device payments from your Hay Device Finance agreement will become due immediately.
  9. Can I upgrade to a new smartphone using Hay Financing? Yes. After one month of your agreement, if you are eligible for a device upgrade, you can activate any new smartphone with Hay Device Financing.
  10. Can I activate a smartphone with Hay Device Financing even though another user on my account already has a phone on a subsidized plan? Yes. Any additional users to the account can activate a smartphone with Hay Device Financing on eligible 2 year rate plans.
  11. Am I able to pay my device in full with a one-time payment? Yes, at any time you may pay your device in full with a one-time payment, ending your device financing arrangement.
