Week ONE – First full week of December
- Come out to the Zurich Christmas Parade on Dec 3rd at 6 p.m. Watch for the Hay float.
- Enter the Hay Christmas Draws – see below.
- Pick up an item to donate to a local Christmas Bureau.
- Watch a Christmas movie. Hollywood Suite channels are on Free Preview all month.
- Are any cell phones on a Christmas Wish List? Check out the Hay mobile promotion and save $10 per month on the rate plan. www.hay.net/mobile. Only until Dec 21st.
- Check online for any local craft shows where you can support local artists and vendors.
- Put on the Stingray Fireplace channel #991 while decorating the tree and think warm cozy thoughts.
Week TWO
- Do a good deed for a neighbour or friend.
- Watch Christmas baking challenges on the Food Network Free Preview, then bake some Christmas Cookies of your own.
- Have fun with our Christmas Search-A-Word and Colouring sheet. Download HERE, from Facebook, or pick one up from one of our offices.
- Hay Customer Appreciation Day – December 14th
- Watch Facebook for the winners of the Hay Christmas Draws, December 15th.
Week THREE
- Video call friends and family you can’t visit over the Christmas break.
- Build a holiday photobooth in your home. Add items like a red nose, reindeer antlers or santa hat.
- Travelling? Play “I spy” with the kids. Have them spot wreaths, lights or other Christmas decorations.
- Last minute gift items are sometimes the best idea! Come in and pick up a Hay Gift Certificate that can be used for cell phones or accessories.
Week FOUR
- Go for a walk in your neighbourhood to look at Christmas lights and decorations. Plan a Christmas scavenger hunt. Take pictures of the things you find or create – like a snow angel.
- Dance to Christmas Music on Stingray Channel #998.
- Read a Christmas tale out loud. Don’t have any? A quick online search will provide many of the classics.
- Make hot cocoa from scratch and wrap presents.
- December 31st, Go SKATING! Hay has sponsored free skating at two arenas, Hensall (12 to 1:20 p.m.) and Zurich (1:30 to 2:20 p.m.).
