December 2025

Christmas isn’t quite the same as when we were kids. For decades now, technology has quietly reshaped our holiday traditions—from the first colour televisions to the tiny supercomputers we now carry in our pockets. Like it or not, the digital world has woven into our Christmas season.

Here are some traditions you may have already added to the holidays, plus a couple you might want to blend into your timeless traditions.

Stay Connected Across the Globe: Families are more spread out than ever before. A simple tradition is to choose a date each year for a family video call. Chances are someone already has a zoom account to make it easy to gather virtually.

Movie nights, Upgraded. Record all your traditional movies and create a marathon night of Christmas favourites. Bring out the Christmas cookies, blankets and hot chocolate, and make it a memory-making night.

Background ambiance for gift wrapping or game night: Not everyone has a fireplace at home anymore, but that cozy glow doesn’t have to be lost. The Stingray fireplace channel can be surprisingly satisfying. When paired with Holiday music, it’s old-fashioned ambiance with a new modern twist.

Shopping Shift. Online shopping has changed the way many households prepare for the season. With busy lives, it can be quite convenient. Just remember to check-in with local shops. Many of them are online as well or are happy to provide availability by phone or email. Now that some of your time is freed up, you can bring back a traditional evening of making a few special gifts by hand.

Slow down, mix it up and enjoy. Let modern digital tools lighten your load and help you with Christmas. The magic happens when the old and new come together.

Think of each Hay service – internet, cell, security or TV, as a building block. The more blocks you have, the higher the bundling discount – 7%, 11% or 15% off.

Add one service at a time – when a contract is done, when you need something new, or when you realize you are paying too much. It will be the easiest switch you’ll ever make.

Build-up your bundle this winter and we’ll put 100 bucks on your account. Call Hay today to ask about our Bundling Offer at 519-236-4333. You can be the STAR this Christmas.
