Do you feel that little bit of relief when the holiday rush is over? You can relax just a bit and take a deep breath.

The snow is falling, and you can spend more cozy time at home. Things will ramp up again in the spring, so take advantage of settling down and enjoy your family-time, whether it is in front of the TV, planning a vacation, or playing out in the snow.

When you get a little itch to do something that doesn’t take a lot of effort, you could take a look at your household communication services. Where might you be paying too much or not getting the amount of personal service your family needs.

We are here for you. While we may also relax after office hours – from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., our Customer Service Reps are ready to chat. We can explain our services or our bundling program, and even do the calculations for you. We won’t ruin the mood. We have never been a pressured sales kind of business. Call us at 519-236-4333. Don’t stress about it.

2025 Scholarship Winners

Tyson Durand
University of Toronto, MAccFin CDP

Tyson plans to receive the CPA designation after graduating with a Master’s of Accounting and Finance degree. In Tyson’s first year at U of T, he set up a working team of passionate students to educate the general public on the importance of understanding cryptocurrencies.

The future of technology in your field of study: “Being someone that understands blockchain technology as a massive tool that can be used to store and record data, I am able to see the application within the accounting profession. For example, every single transaction that a company makes will be recorded on the blockchain, reducing fraudulent activity and faithfully representing the company’s books. This will make audit a lot easier and will force companies to act appropriately. Since I expect the world to be using the blockchain technology behind cryptocurrencies, and not cryptocurrencies themselves, I feel prepared to enter into a workplace and provide value because of personal experiences.” Good luck Tyson

Jillian Roes
King’s University College
Fourth Year Bachelor of Social Work

Career Plans and Goals: “My goal is to become a registered social worker, which I can do as soon as I graduate in the spring. I plan to work with kids and families, whether that is through Huron Perth Children’s Aid Society, the school board, CMHA, Huron Perth Centre, or another organization.”

“I have noticed that a growing number of individuals and families are struggling with mental health support. I want to bring the knowledge that I have gained in my education back to my community to help fill that gap. In a few years, I plan to go back to school to get my master’s degree in social work, so I can become a counsellor and support families in that regard.” Best of luck Jillian.

Emma Ducharme
King’s at Western University in London
Honours Specialization in Applied Psychology and a minor in Thanatology

Career Plans and Goals: “I decided to pursue this degree because I aspire to work in a medical profession where I can assist those who are struggling in life. I’m leaning towards Occupational Therapy. ”

Emma’s passion was clear, even in grade 9 when she started volunteering at the Blue Water Rest Home and eventually worked there for a period of time. Additionally Emma volunteered with Big Brothers, Big Sisters and in elementary schools, supporting young girls.

Emma says it best. “I will never forget the life skills and career skills I acquired from these experiences and I believe that helping those who are struggling is my life’s purpose.” Good luck Emma.

Julie Wein
Wilfrid Laurier University
Honours Bachelor of Science, Health Sciences

Volunteering and Community Involvement: “At the Exeter Hospital, I am a part of the Friendly Faces program, where I spend time with patients who have dementia who are waiting for long term care. Through this role, I go for walks, colour, play games, and chat with people from all backgrounds and lives. I also volunteer at Sunnyside Long Term Care Home in the dementia wing, running recreation and activities with the residents. I love giving the residents a chance to engage with physical activity and games to support a healthy mind.”

Julie’s community involvement and volunteering shows her commitment and desire to be an excellent advocate for the health and wellbeing of all people in the healthcare system. Good luck Julie.
