The Hay Communications staff and Board of Directors wish you the best in the new year.
Does Your Statement Mention
a Patronage Credit?
Each year the Hay Communications Board of Directors make a determination on the patronage paid to customers.
The 2023 patronage credit was set at 20% and totals $278,807.12. Patronage is paid for telephone services customers subscribed to in 2023.
THANK YOU for your continued patronage. We strive to adhere to the 7 Co-operative Principals and want to remind people that we also provide our customers with ongoing bundling credits.
IMPORTANT – If you see a CR beside the amount owning on your statement, you do not need to make a payment this month.
2023 Scholarship Award Recipients
Let’s all congratulate a great group of youth from our community.
Jennifer Barclay
Jennifer is in her second year at Western University completing her Honours Bachelor of Science with Honours Specialization in Neuroscience.
Jennifer would like to pursue a residency in either psychiatry or neurology. “Furthermore I hope to start a medical clinic in my local community in order to make specialized healthcare more accessible in rural communities.”
Jennifer was a founding member of ECO Exeter and currently is involved in the Western Foot Patrol. Shortly she will be volunteering with Parkwood Institute’s Mental Health Care Building. Well done Jennifer!
Simon Bridge

Initially with and eye on stability and traveling remote areas practicing the field of nursing, Simon also says, “As I accumulate valuable experience and financial stability during my years of service, my ultimate goal is to return to Western University to undertake the Nurse Practitioner program. This choice stems from my unceasing love for learning and my unyielding desire to enhance my role as a healthcare professional.”
Simon feels the emergence of AI is poised to revolutionize the nursing profession. With tools that can analyze vast amounts of patient data to identify trends and potential issues, thus enabling nurses to make more informed decision and improve patient outcomes.
Nolan Regier
Nolan is in his 4th year at Laurentian University. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with a Major in Finance and a Minor in Marketing. In the future Nolan wants to pursue a career as an investment/Portfolio Manager.
Nolan has already been very active in his community volunteering in Learn-to-play hockey school and in music as a member of the senior band. He plans to continue with his volunteering once he comes back to the community. “I believe in the power of sports to teach important life values such as teamwork, discipline, resilience and perseverance, and it is fulfilling to impart these lessons to the next generation.
Nolan says that “Data analytics and Artificial intelligence will play a central role in reshaping finance, offering the ability to process vast financial data quickly, enhance investment strategies, and improve risk-adjusted returns.”
Mariah Gilmar
Mariah is in her second year at Lambton College studying to become an Electrical Power Distribution & Control Technician.
She will pursue an industrial electrical apprenticeship with aspirations of becoming a fully licensed electrician.
Mariah says that volunteering at her church, in the ECO Club of Exeter and with kids sports teams has strengthened her social skills when it comes to communication, leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills as well as her problem-solving skills. Piano lessons gave her the feeling of accomplishment and to work hard for her goals. All these things have given her the valuable skills that are helping her pursue her passion in a traditionally male field.
In 2023 we successfully converted all our cable TV customers to our new streaming TV service. In 2024 we will continue our efforts to move customers to our new platform by converting all IPTV customers. We hope to have this completed by mid-year.
If you have not made the switch, give us a call. You may be able to install the service yourself on a device you may already have and start enjoying the benefits of this new service.
